At Your Request Room Service Dining Program
In order to serve our patients better at LewisGale Hospital at Pulaski, we have developed a creative meal program. It's called "At Your Request Dining TrayRoom Service Dining Program". This service gives you greater control over what you eat and when you eat it.
After admission to LewisGale Hospital at Pulaski, a diet will be ordered for you. You will then be allowed to choose items, based on that diet, using the menu located in the top drawer of your bedside table. You are welcome to request food at any time during our regular hours: 6:30 am to 6:30 pm
In order to manage our department better, we suggest the following meal times:
7:00 am - 10:00 am
11:00 am - 1:30 pm
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The ordering process is very simple. All you do is dial 6325 (MEAL). Our staff member will take your order. At this point, your order will be checked for diet compliance. A "Meal Service Attendant" will deliver the meal to your bedside. If possible, please have your bedside table ready. However, if your need help in setting up your bedside table or opening containers, please feel free to ask the Meal Service Attendant when your meal arrives.
Your physician or dietitian may prescribe between meal snacks. These will be delivered to your room at the appropriate time.
If you have a family member or friend who wishes to dine with you, we do have guest meals available. These may be ordered at extension 6325. The cost is $4.50 per meal. Payment for guest meals will be accepted in the cafeteria or you may pay the Meal Service Attendant when the tray arrives. Cash or check (payable to LewisGale Hospital at Pulaski Dietary Department) will be accepted.
Some things to remember:
- You may not be able to eat for a period of time due to certain tests. When this happens, we will be certain to deliver your meal as soon as possible when the test is completed.
- If you desire, you may pre-order up to three meals in advance. Please just inform our staff members when placing your order.
- Please only order foods you plan to eat, so that accurate calorie counts may be taken when needed.
